What are your showroom hours?

The hours are easy to publish and easy to read. The decision underneath them is the one worth a minute: which of three quite different windows you point your car at, given the visit you actually have in mind. A first look across three categories with samples going home is not the same errand as dropping two planks back on the rack.

Three windows, and they are not the same shape

The store sits at 15570 Veterans Memorial Pkwy in Wentzville, and the week runs in three blocks. Monday through Thursday is the long one, 9:00 to 5:30, and the only stretch that runs late enough to catch someone after a day shift. Friday is shorter at both ends, 10:00 to 4:00. Saturday is 9:00 to 2:00, the shortest window of the week and the only one that does not sit inside a normal working day. Sunday is closed.

Walking in without an appointment is fine on any of them, which has an answer of its own. So the question is not whether you can come. It is which of those three shapes fits what you are trying to get done.

A first look deserves the long block

A genuine first visit takes longer than people expect, and not because anybody drags it out. You describe the rooms, what is down there now and who lives on it, and the field narrows fast from there. Then you handle product, pull the ones that survive the description, and carry samples out to the car. Most people arrive thinking they need to see everything and leave with three or four samples and a reason for each. That is a Monday to Thursday sort of visit, and starting it with an hour of daylight left over is better than starting it with twenty minutes.

It also helps to arrive with something from the room. What the new floor has to live beside rules colors out faster than anything you can say about them, and what to bring is its own list.

Short errands fit the short windows

Plenty of showroom visits are ten minutes. Returning samples. Picking up two more in the same family. Putting a hand on one tile you have been arguing about since Tuesday. Confirming a trim piece. Those fit Friday, or the tail end of any weekday, without costing you anything.

One caution on Friday and on the last half hour of any day. If your errand is really a decision in disguise, and most of them are, you will want more room than the clock is going to give you. Sample comparison expands to fill whatever time it is handed.

Saturday is the window that costs nobody a day off

The Saturday block is the shortest of the week, and it is also the only one both halves of a household can usually reach without taking time off work. That matters more than the length does. A floor chosen by one person and shown to the other on a phone screen at dinner is a decision that gets reopened, and reopening it after the order is placed is a different conversation than reopening it at the rack. If two people have to agree, spend the short window together rather than the long window alone.

Coming from the far side of the service area changes the math again, since the drive eats into a five hour window harder than it eats into an eight and a half hour one. The towns we cover are spread across four counties, so if you are coming from Troy or Chesterfield rather than Wentzville, weight your trip toward the long block.

What an hours board cannot tell you

Two things sit outside it. The first is who is on the floor. The number rings the showroom and the people who answer it are the people standing in it, so if it matters that Jonah or Audra is the one across the counter, call 636-332-0654 ahead rather than hope. That is the one thing walking in cannot settle for you.

The second is anything that happens at your house. Measuring your rooms is not a showroom visit and does not come off the hours board at all.
