A joist carrying a longer distance deflects further at the middle of its run than a short one does, whatever it is made of, so the reading is taken where the movement would actually be rather than at the wall. Downtown Troy is noticeably hilly, with the courthouse end at the north standing higher than the south end near Marble and Cap au Gris Streets. When a Troy room would be better off with something else

Tile is not the answer everywhere, and an entry is not a whole main level.
